What is
Microsoft
Fabric?
Fabric is a cloud-based SaaS (Software as a Service) product that unifies multiple established services into a comprehensive, end-to-end data analytics platform.
Microsoft positions Fabric as an incentive for users to embrace the Azure data ecosystem, as it unifies Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Power BI into a single cohesive product. By streamlining workflows, it promotes data democratization, empowering everyone from data engineers and analysts to business users.
What is Real-Time Intelligence?
Real-Time Intelligence is a powerful solution designed to extract and visualize data as it unfolds in real-time, creating a dynamic live analytics framework.
This system supports the seamless integration of scenarios like events, data streams, and logs simultaneously, consolidating them within the Real-Time Hub. Moreover, it allows for the connection of additional data sources, enabling instant analysis and automated responses triggered by specific conditions.
The product allows users with seven different components, or “experiences”:
Data Engineering
Notebook-driven tool for transforming data at scale using Spark.
Data Science
Experience to build, deploy, and operationalize ML models integrated with Azure Machine Learning.
Real Time Analytics
Experience for streaming data (often unstructured or semi-structured) from an Azure event hub and storage in KQL databases.
(NEW) Data Activator:
No code platform to detect actionable conditions and trigger actions (think Teams messages, emails, PowerAutomate tasks).
Data Factory
Tool for data engineers to build integrations from a more than 200 native connectors. Combines the simplicity of PowerQuery with the scale of Azure Data Factory.
Data Warehouse
Delta Lake columnar storage engine for data providing a SQL endpoint, fully separating compute from storage.
Power BI
Experience for Data analytics and data visualization.

How Microsoft Dynamics is Better?
Real-Time Intelligence
in Microsoft Fabric
Fabric’s Real-Time Intelligence solution provides an end-to-end streaming solution for real-time data analysis across the Fabric service. Real-Time Intelligence delivers high performance for data of various sizes, ranging from a few gigabytes to several petabytes. It can handle data from different sources and in various formats. Fabric’s Real-Time Intelligence workload can be used for solutions like IoT and log analytics in many scenarios including manufacturing, oil and gas, and automotive.
In the real-time hub, you can:
Find and connect to real-time data sources and create eventstreams.
Preview and manage your real-time data connections, including navigating to captured stream data in an eventhouse.
Endorse and share real-time data resources across your organization.
Subscribe to Fabric and Azure events, and create eventstreams and Activator alerts.
Create real-time dashboards from event streams.
