Microsoft has announced several enhancements and new capabilities that will be rolled out from October 2017 to customers using the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement services for Sales, Customer Service, Field Service and Project Service Automation.
The updates refer to improvements of user productivity, business applications, data integration and management, and security.
These changes will help serve end users, customers and employees more efficiently.
Unified Interface for Enhanced User Productivity
The latest development aimed at enhancing user productivity across the integrated Dynamics 365 platform is a new unified web user interface.
The updated interface offers an enhanced visual experience and includes consistent colour themes, uniform page structuring and spacing, font standardization and containers for related data.
According to Microsoft, it is important for end users to get consistent experiences and behaviour across all types of devices when they interact with business data on-the-go.
The new framework now powers the Dynamics 365 for phones and tablets app and Dynamics 365 App for Outlook.
Also, thanks to the unified interface, the integrated Microsoft Flow app provides seamless integration, connectivity and a better user experience for web, tablets and phones.
Data Integration and Management for Increased Speed and Scalability
Another significant Dynamics 365 improvement consists of the platform’s ability to quickly adapt to changes on the Microsoft cloud scale and service the needs of medium- and large-scale operations.
The result is a faster deployment of the Dynamics 365 environment and new platform capabilities that allow for a swift integration of external data through Virtual entities.
According to Microsoft, apps customisers can easily embed external data in Dynamics 365 without writing any code or replicating data.
Data can be integrated into grids, forms, lookups, sub-grids and find at runtime. The upgrade also allows advanced app development and customisation.
Security and Compliance for Better Reporting and Monitoring
Activity Logging and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems integration with Dynamics 365 enables the auditing and analysis of admin and security operations.
The updated release enables scenarios for basic forensic investigation, reporting, access to SIEM systems, monitoring, and compliance.
The above Dynamics 365 customer engagement updates are available for new customers and will be made available for existing customers later in the year.
